This piece was commissioned by the Biloxi (Mississippi) High School Band and their director, Travis Coakley, and dedicated to all members and directors of the Biloxi High School Band, past and present. Much of the melodic material is derived from motives lifted from the Our Director March, by Frederick Elsworth Bigelow, first published in 1895. The trio of this march serves as the Biloxi High School Fight Song, and the full trio melody is quoted at the end of the piece, though in a different harmonic setting from the original.
